Georgia Homecoming King Gives Crown to Fellow Student in Heartwarming Gesture

A high school quarterback from Roswell, Georgia, warmed people’s hearts during homecoming recently, when he gifted his crown to the team’s top fan.

After being announced as homecoming king, Roswell High School QB Trey Smith immediately gave his crown and sash to Jake Jeffries, a fellow senior with Down syndrome who has never missed a game.

Footage shared by Roswell High School’s Community Based Instruction (CBI) program shows Smith taking off his homecoming king sash and placing it on Jeffries as the crowd erupted in cheers.

“Moments like these remind us what true kindness looks like,” they wrote in an X post, calling it a “gesture that made everyone’s night.”
