Firefighters Rescue Tiny Kitten From Chimney and Reunite Her With Owner

A little girl in Woodbury, Connecticut, was reunited with her kitten after volunteer firefighters rescued the pet from a chimney on Monday, October 13.

Woodbury Volunteer Fire Department said they were called to a home to rescue the kitten, which had gotten stuck approximately 6.5 feet down the chimney. When firefighters went to access the chimney clean-out to free the cat, they found the fireplace was abandoned and sealed off.

After removing some insulation and sheetrock to access the clean-out, the kitten was nowhere to be seen. She was in another clean-out, a few feet away.

Footage here shows the moment firefighters finally accessed the area in which the kitten was trapped, and gently scooped her to safety.
