Thousands Race Through Madrid Streets In Festive Santa Claus Charity Run
Thousands of runners took to the streets of Madrid to participate in the 14th annual El Corte Ingles Santa Claus charity race on Sunday, December 21, despite the wet weather.
Footage from Sport Life Ibérica, one of the event’s sponsors, shows participants wearing Santa Claus and elf costumes as they ran down Paseo de la Castellana.
This year’s 4.5-kilometer race drew a record 11,000 participants, according to organizers. Each runner paid a €1 registration fee which would be donated to the Red Cross, they said.
