A researcher at Hunter College has found that cats are susceptible to being fooled by optical illusions. The Kanizsa contour illusion is an image that demonstrates how our visual system works: perceiving shapes from the empty space before noting those made from solid objects. Cat eyes are primed to detect enclosures; so much so that they can find them even if they are only mildly delineated in a 2D environment.

The residents at Brookdale Senior Living have lots of wisdom, but tech skills? Not so much. Until a group of computer-savvy Gen-Zs from Canterbury School in Fort Myers, Florida came to the rescue! Led by Aaron Smolyar and his friends Christian Laquis and Derrick Hueniken, the teens created CLEO (Computer Literacy Education Outreach). Now they visit once a week, teaching seniors how to send pictures and emails and even clear out one resident's inbox with 122,000 emails! When the iPads eventually turn off, the teens ensure the conversations keep on going.

In West Linn, Oregon, a heroic man named Ronnie Coulam saved a grandmother from a burning home. Kai Brown was the first to spot the fire and called 911, but when he tried to help his grandmother down the stairs, she fell and was unable to get back up. Fortunately, Coulam happened to see the smoke and rushed into the burning home to carry the injured grandmother to safety. Thanks to Coulam's bravery, the grandmother was rescued and made a full recovery!
