From Homeless to Hero: How This 3-Time World Pizza Champion is Giving Back

Meet the Pizza King of New York

Hakki arrived in the US in 2001 from Turkey with only $250 in his pocket. He didn't speak the language and he didn't know anyone. He slept on park benches until he got help from a homeless shelter and found a job as a dishwasher at a pizzeria.

He saved enough money to buy his own pizza store, but times were still tough. so he gave up his apartment and slept under his oven to stay warm.

Then, his luck began to change. He won an international pizza championship for his remarkable spinning of pizza dough. He owns restaurants all over New York.  And now, he's giving back.
