Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin visited Capitol Hill to push for better access to automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in schools. Hamlin's survival from sudden cardiac arrest during a football game is widely credited to the rapid use of CPR and a defibrillator on the field. The Access to AEDs Act would authorize a grant program to purchase AEDs, fund CPR and AED training programs in schools, and promote the importance of defibrillation in schools. The bill's goal is to normalize heart health and life-saving access to AEDs.

A woman named Tegan Badham has been reunited with the man who saved her life after she fell onto a live Tube track in London in July 2022. Anthony Smith reached off the platform and pulled Tegan to safety, only moments before a train ran into the station. The reunion was made possible thanks to the show Reunion Hotel. Tegan, who was treated at hospital in London for burns and a possible chipped bone in her back, expressed her gratitude to both Anthony and her rubber boots, which she said also helped save her life.

In Michigan, pilot Taylor Hash had a terrifying experience during her third solo flight when a critical piece of her landing gear fell off her single-engine plane. Veteran pilot Chris Yates, who was flying nearby, saw pieces of Hash's landing gear detach mid-air and went bouncing down the runway. Yates came to her rescue by guiding her through the landing process, providing encouragement and calming her nerves. With Yates' help, Hash was able to make an emergency landing safely, and the two are now making plans to meet up and go flying together.
