Volunteers Just Rescued a Bottlenose Dolphin Tangled in a Crab Trap

Rescuers came to the aid of a bottlenose dolphin that became entangled in a crab trap in Brevard County, Florida.

This footage was published by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, who said that they responded to a call from a volunteer with Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute reporting a dolphin “in apparent distress” after it had “become entangled in the lines of a crab trap” just south of the A Max Brewer causeway.

The footage shows deputies and rescuers with the Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute untangling the dolphin near Titusville.
