These Identical Twins Just Gave Birth on the Same Day

Identical twin sisters delivered baby boys on the same day at Children’s Memorial Hermann in Houston on Tuesday, August 26.

The Texas hospital released this footage, which was recorded August 27.

The video features Rachel Schmidtberger on the left, and Lindsey Denny on the right. In the footage, they can be heard explaining that they’re used to doing almost everything with one another. They attended undergrad and medical school at the University of Texas together before becoming dermatologists at the same practice.

They found out they were both pregnant around the same time and gave birth on the same day “almost exactly 12 hours apart,” according to a press release from the hospital.

“Rachel and Lindsey were shocked at first, but quickly accepted this as another ‘twin connection’ – with help from their shared OB/GYN, who they fondly refer to as a magician. Dr Sharon Vila-Wright was thrilled to deliver both babies,” the release continued.

The newborn boys share the same birthday and are also genetically half-siblings, with their moms calling them “brother cousins.”

“Rachel and her husband, Michael, welcomed Owen Michael Hamilton, while Lindsey and her husband, Jared, welcomed Hayes Michael Denny,” the release stated.
